Owner / Financial Planner

Years ago, I was searching for financial advice I could trust - free from sales pressure, product pitches, and vague answers.  I discovered a gap in the financial services industry:  I could not find a true advocate that understood my needs.

My early passion for helping others with their finances began in the early 2000's through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, where I volunteered and led several small group settings at people's homes and at Christian churches.  My understanding deepened over several years of the financial struggles many families face and instilled in me a heart for teaching and guiding others toward financial peace, especially in preparing for retirement.

My personal experience and those experiences I learned from others sparked a calling and a journey that led me to create Kastler Financial Planning - where every client relationship begins with listening, not selling, and is transparent, pressure-free, and rooted in trust.

I transitioned from a successful career in Information Technology consulting to financial services with one goal in mind:  to offer the kind of transparent, client-first guidance I had once needed myself.  I earned my Master of Science in Finance to ensure I was fully equipped to serve clients with both expertise and integrity.

In 2015, I founded Kastler Financial Planning (KFP) to bring that vision to life.  For the first 3 and a half years, I operated KFP under the Garrett Investment Advisors, LLC umbrella - a nationally respected fee-only fiduciary firm.  There, I had the privilege of working alongside 20-30 other financial professionals, learning leading-edge Planning techniques, and refining my client-first approach.  That experience laid the groundwork for the independent practice I lead today.

As a Retirement Income Certified Professional, I specialize in helping individuals and families prepare for and thrive in retirement.  My approach is consultative, educational, and deeply personal - because every retirement journey is unique, and every Plan deserves thoughtful attention.

At Kastler Financial Planning, I operate as a solo fiduciary advisor, meaning you work directly with me.  I'm committed to:

   - Transparency in my fees and contracts
   - Timely in my responses to you
   - Teach with the heart of a teacher
   - Thoughtful with every Plan creation, as though it were my own
   - Thankful for the opportunity to serve you

Whether you're approaching retirement or already in it, I'm here to help you build a Retirement Plan that reflects your values, supports your lifestyle, and gives you confidence in the years ahead.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy time with my family, woodworking,  fly fishing, and cheering on the Tigers.   I have volunteered extensively in the early 2000s for Habitat for Humanity and also for Financial Peace University, where I gained my early passion for helping families with finances.

My wife Julie and I are active in our church community, lead various Bible studies, and volunteering with FamilyLife® Ministries.  We have a heart for strong marriages and purposeful living - values that shape both our personal and professional lives.
